I guess this was inevitable. For five months I have been pretending to be someone who I never can be. I am not a blogger. I don’t belong here. It took me five months and 65 posts to realize.
I had a fun time here I got to admit. I never thought that I’d get this much response from my readers. The thing I’ll always remember is that I actually won a prize for blogging. It felt great.
Thanks to timethief… a wonderful blogger and a great person. My mental condition is just not fit for blogging. Sorry.

I would have wanted you to keep on blogging, most of your posts were interesting to read and good to reflect and comment on. But if you think you're not ready to continue, I understand that. I hope you get better, you can stop smoking and you can keep on with your life, never forgetting to stay true to your ideals and trying to put your grain of salt in helping this world. I wish you best of luck in life.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is that you'll do, I wish you well. Be who you are!
ReplyDeleteI just came across your Blog. Don't know what to say. Maybe just me and my experience, but I get the feeling that you are talking about something other than saying farwell to blogging. If you are, I was there once. Things can and do change. I'm here if you need a humble friend
ReplyDeleteSheesh ... I'm sad I was so happy to see how well you came along in the blogging world.
ReplyDeletePlease do not delete your blog. Just walk away from it for awhile and take a time out.
We all become angry and from time to time and we want to quit blogging when we feel that way.
But in time you may feel very differently about this.
I have recently gone through a lot of sh*t myself but I'm not quitting. I will NOT allow any person or situation to trigger me so that I become so angry that I give my power away, and you shouldn't either.
You say you are not a blogger. I say NONSENSE! You are a writer, sketch artist, photographer and a student. Writers, artists and students all have blogs these days. Don't do anything rash just take a break from blogging, okay?
Irtiza--I want to agree with timethief here. I think you should continue blogging--I have gotten much out of your blog when I have had time to visit (this fall has been just nuts--teaching 8 classes right now plus trying to blog and edit my memoir).
ReplyDeleteI wanted to stop by and wish you peace and happiness in the New Year. But I will add that I also hope to see you continue to blog in 2009!
Take care,
Melinda
Irtiza--I don't know what happened--but I also left you a comment earlier (that I don't see now) urging you to continue. You ARE a blogger--and your blog has come so far. Please don't stop!

Hi Irtiza, I have to admit that I surprise to read this post. I just have time to visit your wonderful blog after holiday and found this post. :(
ReplyDeleteAs many of us as your blog fan agree, I just want to say that you are a Blogger and we love to read your post. But it's all back to yourself to decide.
Happy New Year and all the best for 2009, Irtiza!
Thank you for being Stories of Picture friend throughout 2008!
I hope we will see each other again in 2009!
I am very sorry to see you go. But you gotta do what you gotta do. Perhaps things will change and you will feel the bite of the blog bug again. If not, I wish you happiness and satisfaction in whatever it is you do decide to do. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteLike timethief said, don't delete your blog. Just take a break for awhile and let your thoughts stay live in this blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's understandable to be frustrated. I "gave up" a few months ago as well, but returned to blogging after a brief break. Take some time for yourself. I hope to see you back soon - you ARE a blogger and a good one at that.
ReplyDeleteI would encourage you to re-think your decision. If what you blog about is helpful to another person then keep blogging. Like an artist you will always feel what you write is never good enough. But if it stirs another to think or take action then don't stop.
ReplyDeleteTake a deep breath.
ReplyDeleteYou won the award because you wrote with clarity and insight. You will bring those gifts in whatever creative outlets you choose.
Wherever you end up and whatever you choose, best wishes.
Well that stinks...seems like nice blog
ReplyDeleteBlogging is like learning how to ride a bicycle. You'll never forget it. Give yourself some time to enjoy a break. Live a life away from blogging. Then one day, visit this lonely blog page of yours. And see what will happen. In the meantime, go find yourself. Bon voyage.
ReplyDeleteI understand somewhat. I tried blogging several times and just couldn't stick with it. Part of my problem was that I just didn't have time, but it was also difficult for me to find things to write about. Good luck with whatever you do!
ReplyDeleteI am not a blogger as well, but I do have an online journal, which is what you have. If it brings you comfort to write then keep it and come back when you really feel like you should
