Never Say “Never”, Dude!

This line is from one of my favorite TV series “Lost”. Thinking about it has made me realize its depth and the truth behind this little sentence.

This line represents the power of persistence, the power of not giving up. I honestly don’t believe that just “hard work” brings success to anyone. To enjoy the sweet taste of success one must be persistent and try to be better and better. Life doesn’t forgive those who give up. I know this because I am now far away from my desired lifestyle, from my dreams, just because I said “Sir, I can’t do it”, just because I gave up. But I know now that if I had tried a little longer I could have overcome the obstacle and could have been on my way to “living my dreams”.

Nothing on this life comes without a price. To achieve something good you have to put a little planned effort. So don’t get disheartened if you don’t get the desired result at the first go. Try, try and try again until you make it right. You should never think that “you can not do something”. You should think that the way you are doing it is wrong and if you could (and you will) find the right way, you will be successful. So try to find the best possible solution rather than finding excuses to give up.
Impossible is Nothing
I strongly believe that each failure brings us closer to success. Failure teaches us lots of valuable lessons which enrich our bag of experience. But all that experience will never help us if we tend to give up every now and then. So try to use that knowledge you gathered from your failure to get a little closer to success the next time you try.

I’d like to end this post with a quotation from John Wooden,
Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable.
I hope this post was helpful. You are welcomed to share your own experiences regarding this matter.

  1. This is a great message and wonderfully written!

I live by this line myself in fact. I have come to a place in my life where I know that nothing is impossible and everything is possible!

In terms of things coming at a price, I guess so, but I wouldn't say that I think of this personally in any negative way. If we do what we love, then it feels like a joy no matter what we are doing :)

  3. While what you said is true, there comes a time when you may come to a brick wall and no matter how hard you chip at it you just can't get through. Continuing to chip at the wall may cause you to miss another obtainable opportunity. Either that or another totally different approach is needed, like using a jackhammer. :D

  5. Just what I needed to hear. I'm doing my first dance showcase tonight, and I will be giving it my best effort. I've been stressing that I might mess up, but just the fact that I'm going out there to do it at all is something I will be proud of... I'm not the in front of people type whatsoever, and although I could easily, I refuse to back out of it.

  7. This post is really profound, I'm glad I found this blog.
I'm currently in a situation where I have two months to pass an exam that will let me continue my medical studies, as I have messed up the first year.
Not taking a solid consistent approach to this would devalue my own experiences.

The experiences count for nothing if I don't know how to use them.

  9. Yet another inspiring post from you. :)
    I love Lost too! >.<
Working hard is not enough. I think love for your work is also important. If you do work hard but hate what you do, then hard work would probably not produce anything good. :)
